Hunting - Bighorn Sheep
Please keep this in mind when looking for the appropriate fees:
•A Member of the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation is one who is enrolled in the Three Affiliated Tribes.
•A Spouse of Enrolled Member is one who is not an enrolled member of the Three Affiliated Tribes but is legally married to an enrolled member of the Three Affiliated Tribes.
•A Non-Member Resident refers to those living within the boundaries of the reservation but are not enrolled in the Three Affiliated Tribes.
•A Non-Member Non-Resident is one who is neither an enrolled member of the Three Affiliated Tribes nor lives within the boundaries of the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation.
Bighorn Sheep Season
Season Dates: October 17, 2025 - December 31, 2025
Eligibility: TAT Enrolled Members ONLY.
One (1) Ram Bighorn Sheep License Tag for Unit 4 (Twin Buttes) will be available through lottery.
Tribal Members who have never previously received a Bighorn Sheep license issued by TAT Game & Fish shall be eligible to apply. Each eligible applicant may submit only (1) one application during the lottery application period. Lottery applications will be accepted starting September 2, 2025. A nonrefundable lottery entry fee of $10.00 must be submitted with the application.
The lottery drawing will be held on a date yet TBD before opening day.
The Tribal Bighorn Sheep Permit will cost $150.00 per tag for Tribal members. This is payable to the Fish & Wildlife Office when you have drawn a winning ticket. A completed application and full payment must be received prior to issuance. Licenses are non-transferable. No person may give, barter, or sell an issued license to another person.
